FireFly™ Data Conversion Software
DESI Ion Source users now have the capability to convert their large data sets into file formats compatible with third party software using FireFly™ data conversion software. FireFly is compatible with Thermo Scientific, Bruker, LECO, Waters and AB Sciex data acquisition systems.
FireFly is a software program that extracts and builds data sets from data systems data conversion algorithms into file formats compatible with BioMAP, a third party image visualization and processing software program.
FireFly was created in order to enable visualization of multi-dimensional data sets, which Prosolia's DESI 2-D Ion Source can routinely generate in combination with mass spectrometers from select manufacturers.
Features of the FireFly program allow users to select ranges of data, scale the intensities, and bin the data in both m/z and time. FireFly extracts the raw instrument data without truncating the data and has the capacity to convert rich data sets typically encountered in high resolution mass spectrometry experiments.

BioMap, a common MS image data evaluation platform for Unix, Windows and MAC, was written in IDL™. It provides a common visualization and storage platform, which can be used for visualization of data from any source, provided that an import filter exists for this format. This platform can be extended by various software packages, individually designed for analysis of specific data sets. Visualization is based on multi-planar reconstruction allowing extraction of arbitrary slices from a 3D-volume.
